The way you see yourself shapes how you

experience life.

A space to understand yourself and the relationships that shape your life

Does any of this feel familiar?

    You’re Coping, But Exhausted

From the outside, things look fine. Inside, it takes a lot to keep going.

  • ✽

    The Same Patterns Keep Returning

Different situations or relationships leave you with a familiar feeling.

  • ✽

    You Put Your Needs Aside

It’s easier to care for others than to say what you need.

    Your Feelings Become Too Much

You feel overwhelmed, shut down, or struggle to explain what’s happening.

    You’re Hard On Yourself

Even when you’re doing your best, it rarely feels like enough.

    You Want To Understand Yourself

You’re Not Sure What You Want. You know how to meet expectations, but find it harder to say what would feel right for you.

MEET maggie

Hi, I’m Maggie, the founder of The Healing Hub Mental Wellness.

I hold a BA and a master’s degree in Psychology, alongside further training in psychodynamic therapy and counselling skills. These foundations inform the way I work and the understanding I bring to our sessions.

I work with adults who want to understand themselves more deeply, especially when the same feelings or difficulties seem to follow them through different parts of life.

You might be struggling in a relationship, feeling anxious or low, questioning your self-worth, or finding yourself overwhelmed by emotions you can’t quite explain. Sometimes you know what you’d like to change, yet something keeps pulling you back into familiar ways of coping.

Some of the things we might explore together:

  • Anxiety, low mood, and emotional overwhelm

  • Stress, burnout, and feeling disconnected from yourself

  • Relationships, attachment, and recurring patterns

  • Self-worth, boundaries, and identity

  • Childhood experiences and how they may affect you today

My approach draws on psychodynamic and relational ways of working. In plain language, this means exploring how your experiences and relationships may have shaped the way you see yourself, relate to others, and respond to difficulties today.

We begin with what is happening in your life now. I listen, ask questions, and help you notice connections that can be difficult to see on your own. Together, we explore both the strengths you have developed and the ways of coping that may now be holding you back.

You don’t need to arrive with the right words or a clear explanation of what’s wrong. We can begin with what’s happening in your life now and make sense of it together, at a pace that feels right for you.

Areas I work with:
Self-understanding & recurring patterns | Childhood experiences & your relationship with your younger self | Self-worth & self-doubt | Relationships & boundaries | Stress & burnout | Anxiety & emotional overwhelm

  • How understanding can lead to change

You may recognise parts of yourself without fully understanding them: why certain things affect you, what comes naturally to you, or why you hold back from something you want. Together, we explore what has shaped the way you see yourself and the world, and connect that understanding with the choices you make in everyday life.

    Understand what shaped you

How did you come to see yourself and the world the way you do? Together, we explore experiences, relationships, and expectations, including those from childhood, that may have shaped your beliefs. We also recognise your strengths and the ways you have learned to manage difficult situations.

    Notice what happens now

Perhaps you hold back a need, question your judgement, or feel responsible for someone else’s feelings. We look closely at these everyday moments to understand what you feel, what you expect, and what you need. This can help you recognise when past experiences may be influencing how you see a situation today.

    Explore a different response

What would you like to feel more able to do? Trust your judgement, express what you need, use a strength you tend to dismiss, or pursue something that matters to you? Together, we explore manageable changes and make sense of what comes up as you try them.

    Reflect and build on it

You may understand something about yourself and still find it difficult to respond differently. We return to what happens between sessions, what felt helpful, what was uncomfortable, and what you learned. There is room to practise, reconsider, and build on your strengths at your own pace.

These are parts of an ongoing conversation, rather than steps you have to complete in order. We agree what you want to work towards and review how the sessions are helping you.

I’m curious about who you are beyond the person you’ve learned to be for others.
